Country and southern rock music icon group – the Charlie Daniels Band, will bring its 2009 Christmas and Hits show to Grand Casino Mille Lacs on Friday, November 27, and Saturday, November 28, at 7:30 p.m. both nights. You’ll will be entertained with Daniel’s mega hits like “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” and “In America,” along with Christmas classics like, “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World,” and “The Christmas Song.”

Formed in 1970, the Charlie Daniels Band – which mixes a style of rock, country, bluegrass, blues and gospel – is perhaps best known for its hit song, “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal in 1979. Its 1972 song “Uneasy Rider” climbed to number nine on the Billboard charts in 1973, which really put the Charlie Daniels Band on radar screens of music lovers across the country.

Daniels new Christmas album, scheduled to be released in mid-October 2009, includes a collection of standard Christmas songs with guest performances by Jewel, The Grascals, Aaron Tippin, Kathy Mattea, and more. Songs include “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Joy to the World,” “The Christmas Song,” and “Silent Night.”
