About Shooter Jennings
Shooter Jennings is a rocker – inside and out. He has tattoos: his mother’s name on one arm and a tattoo of a gun on the other. He’s played sold-out shows at the Viper Room, and he’s subbed for Axl Rose (Guns N’Roses) on more than one occasion. But underneath his gun tattoo are the letters CBCS, for “Country Boy Can Survive.” After all, he is the survivor of the original legend and outlaw Waylon Jennings.

In 1995, when Shooter was only 16 years old and playing in a rock band, he and his father began recording rough tracks together in the pool house of their Nashville home. Nothing came of those tracks until two years after Waylon’s death, because Shooter moved to Los Angeles to start his own musical career.

Shooter’s success came with his band The 357s. It was with this band that the album Put the ‘O’ Back in Country emerged, which features a set of rambunctious country songs that leave no doubt of where Shooter comes from and where he’s going.

Shooter decided to finish cutting the eight tracks that he and his father had been working on several years before. In 2008, the album Waylon Forever, which features Waylon’s voice over progressive re-workings of some of his hits, was complete. This album was a launching pad for Shooter and his band’s musical experiments.
