MLCV CEO TO SERVE MEALS TO TROOPS IN KUWAIT

MILLE LACS CORPORATE VENTURES CEO JOE NAYQUONABE TO SERVE MEALS TO 4,000 TROOPS IN KUWAIT WITH SERVING OUR TROOPS ORGANIZATION

MLCV will also serve free meals to veterans and military members at select restaurants during the trip

Onamia, Minn. – Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures (MLCV) announced today that CEO Joe Nayquonabe will travel to Kuwait May 13-18 with the Serving Our Troops organization to serve a meal to 4,000 troops at Camp Arifijan, Kuwait. Minnesota National Guard members from the 682nd Engineer Battalion are among these troops. While Nayquonabe is serving meals in Kuwait, MLCV will be serving free meals to veterans and military members at businesses right here in Minnesota. The free meals are a part of MLCV’s recognition of National Military Appreciation Month (NMAM).

Serving Our Troops was formed by a group of community and business leaders with a common interest in supporting those who put themselves in harm's way so that we may enjoy all that is great about our Country. Since 2004, the all-volunteer Serving our Troops organization has conducted 11 volunteer-driven projects, serving more than 85,000 steak dinners to soldiers and families around the world. Nayquonabe is part of a group of 25 volunteers traveling to Kuwait this month.

“The mission of Serving Our Troops is to express heart-felt appreciation for the service and sacrifices of men and women in uniform and their families, and to bring them encouragement from home,” said Pat Harris of Serving Our Troops. “We appreciate corporate sponsors and volunteers who make these projects possible.”

Nayquonabe said that serving meals to veterans and troops – whether here or abroad – is a reflection of MLCV’s overall commitment to giving back to veterans for the sacrifices they have made.

“In our society it is easy to throw the word hero around. We have sports heroes, movie heroes, music heroes – but when it comes to living truly heroic lives, it’s our servicemen and servicewomen in the military that truly earn that title by living lives of sacrifice on behalf of others,” Nayquonabe said. “It’s an honor for me personally to be able to give something back, and for our businesses to be able to make a gesture of gratitude as well.”
