The Lend a Hand program, now in its 11th year, annually awards one-day home makeovers to those who meet criteria based on income, physical limitations, medical issues, and other challenges. This year, a committee of Grand Casino Associates selected the Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity (LAHFH) organization’s 100th build.
Lend a Hand 2015
LAHFH is building a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, fully accessible home with a 1½ car garage for Heather Aanes, a well-deserved single mom of two who suffers from paralyzing Multiple Sclerosis. As part of the organization’s 25th Anniversary celebration, LAHFH is dedicating this build in memory of Paul Mans, a co-founder of Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity and former Grand Casino Associate.
On Wednesday, August 19, a crew of seventeen rocked, taped, sanded and finished the interior of the home and garage. Then, a full crew will return to not only landscape her yard, but make sure it is as safe as possible.
We are honored and excited to help this family and organization, but know that this program wouldn’t be such a success without donations that we receive from area businesses and the efforts contributed by our Associates.
A special thanks to the following companies who are donating supplies and materials for this Lend a Hand project.
We appreciate your partnership and thank you for your generous donation.
